Guy at work was looking to buy an lcd monitor for his kid so I am selling him my 23 inch lcd 2ms, and just bought the 144hz 1ms monitor by asus.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236313 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236313).
Sterrin bought one recently, said it was bright as hell out of the box, and colors need adjusting, but otherwise aiming is a lot easier, motion blur is almost completely eliminated. In order to get the full effect of a 144hz you have to run 144 frames per second. Sound card is coming in tomorrow. Not really needed for this game, but hopefully in feburary they will have moved to a different sound engine.

depends if this girl wants to go to a hockey game or not
only problem with asus cards is that they lack 3d audio positioning. Creative excels at that. Which is mostly what your using it for

I also bought a samsung 840 pro SSD, but I'm debating either using it for my HTPC build or gaming pc.

@twitch: with that setup, a new graphics card would go a long way for helping fps. The i5 2500 is decent but not the big bottleneck. That crappy 275 is doing it
@xtr: that thing is a beast

I know its pretty crappy, but I got the mobo+proc for 100 and graphics card for $40. I'm not really at the stage yet where I want to be dropping money into my gaming pc.

Monitor's a Samsung Syncmaster 2253BW. Power supply's a ThermalTake W0117RU 750W. Case isn't the V3. Apparently things I bought in 2008 aren't current enough for pcpartpicker. Who knew?

I was thinking about selling them and getting the hd 558's. I loved my 555's in aa2
get 598's
I heard good things about the 555's but don't know anything other than that. Don't like the steel series that much?
They get uncomfortable to me after an hour plus of use. The 558's are known to have a large soundstage which makes it easier to pinpoint footsteps an what not. Not that it would make much of a difference in the game right now. I like the headset it's really good, other then it being uncomfortable after an hour or so
